Mountain Capital Partners to Offer $9 Lift Tickets at All Nine U.S. Ski Resorts

As single-day lift ticket prices at some U.S. ski resorts approach $400, MCP puts tens of thousands of $9 tickets on sale across its U.S. resorts for the first time

DURANGO, Colo., Oct. 5, 2026 — Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) will offer $9 lift tickets at all nine of its U.S. ski resorts this winter.

Tens of thousands of $9 tickets will be available at MCP resorts in Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico and Oregon. Select lift tickets also include $10 in resort credit that guests can use at on-mountain stores and restaurants.

Kids 12 and younger also ski free all season at every MCP ski resort through the Power Kids Pass, with no purchase required.

"Making skiing more affordable isn't a new idea for us. We are driven to give people the freedom to ski, and that's guided us from the start," said James Coleman, founder and managing partner of Mountain Capital Partners. "These $9 lift tickets are one more way we're giving our guests that freedom."

MCP, the third-largest U.S. ski resort company by number of resorts, announced more than $37.5 million in capital improvements across its U.S. and South American resorts in 2026. At its U.S. mountains, projects include new lifts, new terrain and expanded snowmaking. All nine U.S. resorts will also have RFID lift access this winter.

MCP also announced scheduled opening dates for all nine U.S. resorts, beginning Nov. 6 at Brian Head Resort in Utah.

New This Winter

  • Pajarito Mountain, New Mexico: For the first time, Pajarito will operate seven days a week. A $20 million project, including a new pipeline from Los Alamos, delivers 2,700% more water for snowmaking, expanding coverage to more trails and providing top-to-bottom snowmaking for the first time. Scheduled resort opening: Dec. 4.

  • Purgatory Resort, Colorado: The new Colorado Couloir triple chair, which headlines more than $6 million in improvements this winter, will provide access to seven new trails and connectors and about 40 acres of advanced and expert terrain. Scheduled resort opening: Nov. 20.

  • Lee Canyon, Nevada: A new quad chair will serve West Bowl and five new trails, becoming the resort's fourth new lift in three years and bringing investment at Lee Canyon to nearly $30 million since 2019. A new rope tow and a new beginner conveyor also debut this season. Scheduled resort opening: Nov. 20.

  • Brian Head Resort, Utah: More than $2 million in improvements include a new snowmaking pipeline on Navajo Mountain that lets 24 snow guns run at once, up from 18. Scheduled resort opening: Nov. 6.

  • Willamette Pass Resort, Oregon: A $5 million snowmaking expansion, one of the most significant infrastructure investments in the resort's history, more than triples snowmaking capacity and adds top-to-bottom coverage. Scheduled resort opening: Dec. 11.

  • Arizona Snowbowl, Arizona: More than $1 million in improvements include the new 150-foot Sunshine beginner conveyor, four new tower snow guns and 92 acres of glading and forest health work. Scheduled resort opening: Nov. 20.

  • Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort, New Mexico: Summer lift maintenance sets up the first full season for Lift 3, the new chairlift that debuted last winter. Sipapu has been the first ski area in New Mexico to open for more than 20 years. Scheduled resort opening: Nov. 20.

  • Nordic Valley, Utah: Snowmaking upgrades, including a new pond and water line, lay the groundwork for future snowmaking expansion. Scheduled resort opening: Dec. 18.

  • Sandia Peak Ski Area, New Mexico: Since MCP began operating the Albuquerque-based ski area, the resort has rebuilt Chair 4 and added a beginner conveyor. Work continues this fall to return Chair 2, the upper-mountain lift, to service. Scheduled resort opening: Dec. 19.

Opening dates are weather permitting.

Lift ticket prices are demand-based, and availability of $9 tickets varies by resort and date. $9 tickets are on sale now at Purgatory, Arizona Snowbowl, Brian Head, Lee Canyon and Sipapu. Tickets for Pajarito, Willamette Pass, Nordic Valley and Sandia Peak go on sale later this fall. Prices and availability are current as of Oct. 5, 2026. Tickets are available through each resort's website.
